Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 18: A 5-days Training-cum-Workshop on AB-SHWP (Ayushman Bharat, Health & Wellness Programme) for the HWAs (Health & Wellness Ambassadors) of all Govt. Schools of Nicobar District was organized by the Science Wing of the Directorate of Education in collaboration with the Health Department of A & N Administration from Nov.12 to 18, 2024 in the Conference Hall of Shiksha Sadan, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Earlier, Dr. Avijit Roy, Deputy Director (Health) & Joint Secretary (RCH-II), DHS inaugurated the training on Nov.12 as chief guest.
Altogether, 25 teachers (GTTs, PETs & PGTs) participated in this workshop and also shared their experiential learning with the adolescent students of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Rangachang during the field visit.
The valedictory session was held today, in which, Shri Ram Parvesh, Deputy Director of Education (Sc.), shared an overview of the workshop. He emphasized the critical roles and responsibilities of School Health & Wellness Ambassadors in advancing the mission of health and wellness in the Educational Zones of Nicobar District.
Shri Shyamal Mazumder, Principal, GSSS Rangachang, was the chief guest for the closing ceremony while Shri Job, Vice Principal, GSSS Rangachang was the guest of honour. They distributed certificates to the participants in recognition of their active involvement and successful completion of the training.
The five-day training-cum-workshop was coordinated by Shri Chanchal Singha Roy, Training Coordinator and Dr. Neena Alex, General Duty Medical Officer (RBSK), Health Department.
