Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 21: The National Book Week-2024 organized by State Library, Sri Vijaya Puram concluded yesterday with prize distribution ceremony held at its premises. The Deputy Director Education (Perl), Directorate of Education, Smti M V Jolly as the chief guest of the valedictory function gave away prizes to winners of different competitions organized during the weeklong celebration. Smti M V Jolly appreciated the students for their participation in various competitions conducted at State Library. Carmel Sr. Sec. School bagged the special trophy for overall best performing school this year.
Shri S Suresh Kumar, Dy. Director Education (Plg)/Nodal Officer, State Library congratulated the participants and winners of various competition organized as part of the observance.
Earlier, Shri Anbarasan, Incharge, State Library, Sri Vijaya Puram in his welcome address congratulated all the participants and winners of the drawing, book reading, story-telling and elocution competition organized at State Library. Kumari Sana of Class VIII of Carmel Sr. Sec. School, Kumari Praptee Dutta of Class XII of Mahatma Gandhi International School in Junior & Senior Group (Hindi) while Kumari Fiza Tarique of Class VIII and Kumari Tuhina Hamid of Class XI of Carmel Sr. Sec. School in Junior & Senior Group (English) presented their prize winning speeches on this occasion which were appreciated by all.
The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri Anutosh Roy, Librarian, State Library, Sri Vijaya Puram.
