Diglipur, Nov. 21: On the occasion of 71st All India Cooperative Week celebrations-2024, a programme was conducted at Diglipur on the topic “Transforming Cooperatives into Enterprises for Development of PACS” and “The role of Cooperatives in building ‘Viksit Bharat’”.
The programme was graced by Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A&N State Cooperative Union and the representatives of PACS.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma highlighted the various initiatives adopted for the PACS such as Common Service Centre, Fertilizer shops, Seed Business, Selling of Crackers, tractor on rental basis, Mobile Rural Vans to support the farmers for selling their agricultural produce.
As many as 31 PACS have been taken the membership of Bhartiya Bheej Sahakarita Samiti, he said adding that the other remaining PACS should also come forward to join the seed committee, tourism sector, fisheries sector, and IT sector for their overall development.
Stressing on strengthening the farming community, he stated that “Our main focus is to increase the income of farmers”.
Officials of all the PACS appraised the effort of the A&N State Cooperative Bank and appealed to take steps for strengthening the PACS further.
During the programme, chairpersons of various PACS also spoke about the issues pertaining to their PACS.
Shri. Parimal Mallick, Branch Manager, A&NStCB Ltd, Kalighat Branch welcomed the Chief Guest, Chairpersons of PACS, Secretaries, Cooperative Department officials, and other participants to the programme. Smti. Santilata Bala, Branch Manager, Diglipur proposed the vote of thanks.
