Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 26: The 75th year of the Indian Constitution Day also known as Samvidhan Divas, was celebrated in all the Govt. / Govt. Aided / Private schools, Higher educational institutions namely JNRM, ANCOL, DBRAIT, Law College, TGCE, ITI, DIET and office establishments under the Directorate of Education, A&N Administration today to commemorate the contribution of all the architects of the Constitution, including Baba Saheb Dr. B R Ambedkar and to create awareness about the basic principles of the Indian Constitution among the students and staff. Constitution Day reinforces democratic ideals and encourages active civic participation and responsibility. It also reflects the vision of a progressive and inclusive India, safeguarding the rights of its citizens while emphasizing their duties.

The celebration of Constitution Day commenced with the reading of the Preamble in the morning assembly followed by a brief introduction about making of the constitution and its salient features. The main objective of the celebration was to inculcate constitutional obligations among the students, to create awareness about Constitution and to sensitize the students about importance of Constitution Day. The strength of a huge country like India is its Constitution. It gives us the mantra for national unity and integrity by ensuring justice and equal rights to every citizen. The Constitution binds our vivid cultural, linguistic, geographic and religious diversities into one cohesive and powerful nation.

A number of activities such as, organizing talks by eminent scholars, conducting of painting/poster making competition, declamation on the significance of the constitution and community awareness activities were organized to highlight and reiterate the values and principles enshrined in the constitution as part of the celebrations.

An oath was also administrated by Head of Schools / Head of Offices in all the institution and establishments. As a mark of respect, a fitting tribute was paid to Dr. B R Ambedkar, in recognition of his pivotal role in drafting the constitution. Students and teachers from 408 schools comprising of 67703 students and 5757 teachers and other staff participated in the celebration.
