Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 28: The CD Block of Little Andaman conducted a Block Level Training Programme on ‘Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabhas’ yesterday, at the Panchayat Samiti Hall. This initiative, held under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), aimed to benefit local officials including Pradhan, students from Govt. Model Senior Secondary School Hutbay, Panchayat Functionaries, Child Protection Committee and teachers.
The session was inaugurated by Shri S. Paramanathan, Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti, Little Andaman as the chief guest. Shri Belthazer, Block Development Officer, delivered an introductory speech emphasizing the training's benefits for participants.
This was followed by an insightful introduction on the concept and importance of Bal Sabhas by Smti S. Parmeswari, Block Programme Manager (BPM). Shri. Krishna Kanta Golder, Cluster Coordinator (CC), provided valuable insights on the roles and responsibilities of child members in Bal/Balika Sabhas which are crucial for fostering child empowerment, community participation, and protection of child rights. Shri. Mohan Rao, Station House Officer(SHO) Hut Bay and Smti Albakka, Mukhya Sevika, ICDS also spoke on the occasion.
