Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 4: As part of the Civil Accounts Day celebrations, the Chief Pay and Accounts Office, in collaboration with the Staff Council of the Pay and Accounts Organisation, organized a Blood Donation Camp in the office's Conference Hall on 4th December 2024 at 10:00 AM. This initiative exemplified the organization’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community service.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, as the Chief Guest. In his address, Shri Sharma underscored the life-saving significance of blood donation, describing it as a profound act of humanity and compassion. He lauded the Civil Accounts fraternity for their commendable efforts to give back to society through this noble cause.
Adding to the gravitas of the event, Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director of the A&N AIDS Control Society, and Shri S. Das Gupta, Director of Accounts & Budget, were also present to encourage and inspire the participants.
The camp saw enthusiastic participation, with around 30 donors stepping forward to donate blood, embodying the spirit of saving lives. Those unable to donate played a supportive role, motivating their peers and fostering a sense of unity throughout the event.
A special awareness session on AIDS and HIV, conducted by the A&N AIDS Control Society, further enriched the occasion. The session aimed to educate attendees on prevention, treatment, and the importance of breaking stigmas surrounding these critical health issues. Participants appreciated the informative and impactful insights shared during the session.
The Chief Pay and Accounts Office extended heartfelt gratitude to all donors, participants, and supporters, particularly the health department team, for ensuring the event's success. The office reiterated its commitment to organizing similar initiatives that uplift communities and foster societal well-being.
