Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 5: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Sri Vijaya Puram, inaugurated the District-Level Yuva Utsav - 2024 at Tagore Government College of Education, Middle Point, Sri Vijaya Puram. The event, aimed at fostering creativity, leadership, and social responsibility among youth, is being held under the overarching theme of Panch Pran, focusing on building a developed and united India.
The event lineup for the District-Level Yuva Utsav - 2024 includes: 1. Science Mela Exhibition (Group and Individual Events). 2. Young Artists Camp (Painting Competition). 3. Young Writers Camp (Poetry Writing). 4. Photography Workshop. 5. Declamation Contest. 6. Cultural Festival (Group Events Only)
Yesterday, the Photography Workshop and Young Artists Camp-Poetry Writing competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 60 young individuals.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Jagtap Kalyani Rajendra (DANICS, 2021), currently serving as Director (Fisheries) and Joint CPA in the UT Administration, delivered an inspiring speech on the role and responsibilities of youth in building a developed Bharat (Vikshit Bharat). She also recited a heartfelt poem on the theme of Panch Pran, which resonated deeply with the audience.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. Manju Lata Rai, Principal of Tagore Government College of Education, highlighted the importance of such platforms in nurturing creativity and leadership among youth.
The event was also graced by the presence of Dr. Sunita Patil, who extended her support for the program, Dr. Nripendra Narayan Singh, Smti Urmila Chakraborty (PGT, Sr. Sec. School Port Mout), Smti Anita Sharma (PGT), Smti Harjit Kaur (Kamraj School), Smti Rajni (Teacher, VKV), Smti Deepa (Teacher, Nirmala School), and Smti Neeta Chandra (Lecturer, TGCE).
Judges for the Poetry Competition included: Smti Hema Madumder, Educationist, Smti Shalni, Educationist, Shri Anup Kumar Dutta, Media Person.
For the Photography Contest, the judges were: Shri P.S. Saigal, Program Executive, DDK, Shri Vishwa, Cameraman, Doordarshan Kendra, Shri B. Janakan, Cameraman.
Earlier, the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor were welcomed with shawls and bouquets. Shri Sukh Ranjan, Deputy Director (OSD), NYKS, Additional Charge of Sri Vijaya Puram, delivered the welcome address, outlining the program's objectives. Shri Gopal Ch. Biswas, of Nehru Yuva Kendra, APA, proposed the vote of thanks and ensured seamless coordination of the event.
The concluding function and prize distribution ceremony for the District-Level Yuva Utsav - 2024 will take place on 9th December 2024 at Tagore Government College of Education. On this day, the Science Exhibition and Cultural Festival will be held. Meanwhile, the Declamation Contest and Painting Competition are scheduled for 6th December 2024.
