Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 8: The 7th Civil Accounts Day was celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm at the TGCE Auditorium, bringing together dignitaries, staff, and their families to honor the invaluable contributions of the Civil Accounts Service to transparent and efficient financial governance.
The celebration was led by Shri S. Das Gupta, Director of Accounts & Budget, Chief Pay and Accounts Office, Sri Vijaya Puram. Dr. Aman Gupta, IAS, Secretary (Finance), as the Chief Guest, and Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), as the Guest of Honor.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing enlightenment and progress. Shri S. Das Gupta delivered the welcome address, reflecting on the history and evolution of the Civil Accounts Day.
In his keynote address, Chief Guest Dr. Aman Gupta commended the cadre for their vital contributions to the administrative framework. He expressed his delight at the excellent organization of the event, which thoughtfully included both cadre members and their families. Dr. Gupta also praised the cadre for going above and beyond their duties by organizing a blood donation camp, showcasing their commitment to societal welfare. Additionally, he lauded the successful conduct of the workshop on “Procurement Challenges and Way Forward,” highlighting its relevance and impact.
Guest of Honour Shri Arjun Sharma, with his gracious presence, highlighted the importance he accords to the cadre and their significant role in the Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
The month-long celebration leading up to the 7th Civil Accounts Day featured a variety of activities organized by the Staff Council for employees, their families, and children. These included cricket, badminton, table tennis, musical chairs, carrom, chess, Drawing Competition and quiz. Winners in each event were awarded certificates and trophies in recognition of their achievements.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks given by Shri Shadab Rasheed, Vice President, Staff Council. He extended gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their contributions to making the 7th Civil Accounts Day a resounding success.
