Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 10: Press Information Bureau (PIB), Sri Vijaya Puram conducted Roadshow following Audio-Visual Presentation to create awareness about World Audio-Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) and 27 Create in India Challenges (CIC) in Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM)
Press Information Bureau (PIB) under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Sri Vijaya Puram organized a Roadshow in Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM) campus to create awareness on the upcoming World Audio-Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) during the month of February, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Following the Roadshow a presentation seminar was also being organized to make the students informed about the 27 Create in India Challenges (CIC). Dr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal, JNRM was the Chief Guest in the presentation seminar, while Padma Shri Naresh Chander Lal as Guest of Honour, Filmmaker Ms. Samhita Veda Acharya as the Keynote Speaker and Shri S. Murali, RNU Head, Akashvani, Sri Vijaya Puram as Special Guest also inspired the gathering.
Ms. Acharya, Filmmaker, Singer and Lecturer, encouraged the students to come out of the cocoon of inhibitions and go out and shoot. She emphasized on the importance of such a platform where young minds can explore their creativities. She also pointed out the rich visual opulence the Islands of Andaman and Nicobar can offer to them. Mentioning about the Cash Prizes the keynote speaker for the day highlighted the key points of CICs under Films, social media and Broadcasting categories.
Shri S. Murali, Assistant Director and Head, RNU, Akashvani, Sri Vijay Puram graced the event being present as the Special Guest. He briefly oriented the students on the importance of General Knowledges and how it can be done easily by listening to the Radio News. He also presented the CICs under Radio and Music.
The Guest of Honour for the day Padma Shri Naresh Chander Lal, member of CBFC Board, shared his insights on filmmaking and importance of awards and recognitions. Drawing references from his experiences Shri Lal claimed, “You don’t need money to make a film, you need courage.” He went on emphasizing the rich cultural heritages present in the islands and how to explore them.
Dr. Sharma shared his firm believe on valuing Indianness while making reels, or movies in order to succeed. He expressed his confidence on his students that instead of copying western cultural practices blindly, his students will value and depict Indian rich heritage through their creations. And ultimately, they will be able to captivate the attention from the world by using the platform been provided through WAVES.
