Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 16: On the request of general public, the District Administration of South Andaman has decided to transfer the jurisdiction of Port Mout revenue village from the Tushnabad Patwari Circle (PC-7) to the Chouldari Patwari Circle (PC-10), effective from 16th January 2025. This decision follows a proposal from the public representative of Ferrargunj Tehsil and was further discussed during the Good Governance Week event, with the theme ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’, held on 20th December 2024 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner.

The rationale behind this change is to address the accessibility issues faced by residents of Port Mout, as the Tushnabad Patwarkhana is located approximately 6 km away from the village, while the Chouldari Patwarkhana is only 1 km away. By transferring jurisdiction to Chouldari Patwari Circle, residents will have easier access to their daily revenue-related services, improving their overall convenience and efficiency in accessing necessary governmental services.

This decision has been made in accordance with the provisions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation, 1966, under order No. 69 dated 16th January 2025.

The District Administration is dedicated to ensuring good governance by continually working to meet the needs of its citizens. By facilitating easy access to services and addressing public concerns, the administration strives to create an environment where citizens can benefit from efficient and responsive governance. This ongoing commitment reflects the administration's focus on enhancing public welfare and providing solutions that improve the quality of life for the community.
