Peddapuram, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 19: The 13th National Schools Chess Championship 2025 is currently underway at Sri Prakash Synergy School, Peddapuram, Andhra Pradesh from 17th to 21st January 2025. Organized by the Andhra Chess Association under the aegis of All India Chess Federation (AICF), the championship has attracted 1214 young chess players across the country, competing in twelve categories viz. Under-7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17 for both boys and girls.
For the first time in history, players from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are representing in all twelve categories of the National Schools Chess Championship. A total of 31 young chess players from various schools of the islands are participating with great enthusiasm.
