2200 ‘MY Bharat’ Youth from Colleges and NYKs Participate in Jai Hind Padyatra
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 23: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration in association with Department of Education, NYK and other line Departments organized Padyatra to commemorate the event. The event was marked by a mega Padyatra spanning 4.5 km, symbolizing the indomitable spirit of patriotism and dedication to the nation inspired by Netaji. Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse participated in the ‘Jai Hind’ Padyatra today in Sri Vijaya Puram, as part of the Parakram Diwas celebrations to honour the 128th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The Padyatra, flagged off by Smti Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Hon’ble Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, commenced from Flag Point and concluded at Netaji Stadium. Around 2200 vibrant ‘MY Bharat’ youth from various colleges and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) volunteers participated in the rally, wearing ‘Meri Bharat’ T-shirts and caps. Participants carried the Indian tricolor, displayed thought-provoking placards, and recited inspirational quotes of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
During her address, the Hon’ble Minister highlighted the significance of Netaji’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle, aligning her speech with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). She urged the youth to embody Netaji’s ideals of courage, selflessness, and patriotism while playing an active role in nation-building. She also emphasized the various Government schemes aimed at promoting welfare of the youth and their role in fostering a self-reliant and prosperous India. Smti Khadse actively participated in the Padyatra and appreciated the enthusiasm of the young participants.
The Padyatra took a significant pause at the Netaji Statue Point, where the Hon’ble MoS garlanded the statue and paid floral tributes to honor the legacy of Netaji.
The program concluded at Netaji Stadium, where a cultural performance was organized by the Department of Art and Culture, paying tributes to Netaji through traditional and patriotic themes. On the occasion, youth icons and winners of competitions including essay writing, painting, quiz, and declamation contests were awarded mementos by the Hon’ble Minister. Participants of the National Youth Festival 2025 and four gold medalists of the National School Games were also felicitated for their outstanding achievements.
Earlier, the Hon’ble Minister was welcomed with a bouquet and shawl by Shri L. Kumar, IAS, Secretary (Sports and Education), and Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Sports and Education).
Shri L. Kumar delivered the welcome address, outlining the significance of Parakram Diwas as a day to honor Netaji’s unparalleled leadership and resilience. He also commended the collaborative efforts of the Department of Sports, Education, NYKS, SAI, and NSS for making the event a grand success.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Sports, Youth Affairs, and Education), who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, participants, and organizers for their contribution to the successful execution of the program.
This celebration of Parakram Diwas served as a powerful reminder of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's ideals and the significant role youth play in shaping the future of the nation. The 'JAI HIND' Padyatra marks the fifth in a series of 24 Padyatras planned to commemorate 75 years of the Constitution and celebrate India’s vibrant cultural diversity.
