Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 28: State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram has successfully completed 10 days’ program in fast food stall for specially abled ladies of CRC Brookshabad. The program was conducted with the support of the Principal and faculties of Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology. The program commenced on 17th Jan which was actively attended by 17 Divyangjans.
The Chief Guest for the valedictory function was Shri L Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare, Education and Sports, and was also graced by the Smt Sumithamol Director, Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Brookshabad.
Welcoming the gathering Mr C Raj, director of SBI RSETI shared that the programme could be arranged successfully only due to the active support of the Principal and faculties of DBRAIT and CRC Brookshabad.
In his address Shri Siddhartha Gupta, Regional Manager, SBI informed that it’s for the first time such a skill development programme has been conducted by this RSETI with focus on Specially abled women to help them in becoming ‘atmanirbar’. He also placed on record the support given by the Principal and Faculties of DBRAIT for extending hand hold support to the trainees during the last ten days.
SBI RSETI had also arranged for the transportation of these trainees from their residence to training centre and ensured dropping them back home. Of the batch of 17 trainees there were five deaf and dumb trainees for whom interpreter in sign language was also arranged by RSETI.
Smt Sumitamol, Director of CRC expressed her happiness in the progress of the trainees and also thanked SBI RSETI for taking such initiative of skill development to the specially abled women.
During the function some of the trainees shared their experience who were high in their confidence of the skill that they have learned during the training.
Addressing the gathering Shri L Kumar, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare, Education and Sports firstly congratulated the trainees for sharing the things learnt and was happy to learn that the trainees are practicing it at home for improving their skill. Shri L. Kumar advised CRC to promote the trainees to form a group for carrying forward the skill acquired during the training. Shri L. Kumar also requested SBI that the training to these specially abled should not stop here and the Bank should extend all support including financial assistance if any required to the needy. He also asked SBI to extend other training programmes to the interested candidates. He also thanked SBI for conducting such a programme exclusively for the specially abled ladies.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri P. Kaliswaran, Faculty of the Institute.
