Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 6: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry is proposing an initiative to promote and celebrate the rich culinary heritage of each District of the country, akin to One District One Cuisine (ODOC) Initiative and in line with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and ‘Vocal for Local' initiative. The objective of the initiative is to showcase the unique dishes, ingredients, and food specialties of each district of the country, elevating their recognition both domestically and globally.

Suggestions/inputs have been invited from the general public/stakeholders from the A&N Islands to submit details of unique/ indigenous cuisine, dish, or traditional eatable specific to any Districts of A&N Islands with brief description and historical background of each cuisine/dish for highlighting the cultural significance and traditional practices associated with these cuisines.

-Historical and cultural significance

-Photographs of the Product.
