Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb 14: The Chess in Schools (CiS) Programme for primary class students of Govt. Sr. Sec. School Girls commenced today on the school premises. The event began with the ceremonial first move on the chessboard by Smti. Archana Singh, Principal, in the presence of Shri. Mohd. Irshad Ahmed, AD (Sports) and Shri. B. Neelaiah, Nodal Officer (Chess).
In her address, Principal Smti. Archana Singh highlighted the numerous benefits of chess, emphasizing its role in enhancing cognitive skills, patience, and strategic thinking among students.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Mohd. Irshad Ahmed elaborated on how chess nurtures essential life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and concentration, all of which contribute to the overall development of students.
The Chess in Schools programme aims to integrate chess into classrooms, providing an engaging and stimulating environment that fosters focus, critical thinking, and discipline among young learners.
