Sri Vijaya Puram, March 3: In line with its unwavering commitment to combat drug-related activities, the, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station executed a targeted Anti-Narcotics operation on 02/03/2025.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated Police Team from Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Inspector Pritam Behari, SHO Anti-Narcotics Police Station carried out this operation which included SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, PSI S. Sudharsanan , ASI Surya Narayan, PC/ Ratan Das, PC/ Nanak Singh, PC/ M. Raja Rao and PC/Nandita Mistry. The operation was conducted under the overall leadership of Shri Manish Kumar, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics).

The team intercepted Sabir Hosen Molla S/o Shri Asmatali Molla (20) Yrs R/o Thakuraniberia, Ramamari, Thakuraniberia, South 24 Parganas, Canning-I West Bengal now residing at Calicut near Pump House.   Sabir Hosen Molla had arrived in Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) from Kolkata on 02/03/2025, via an Spicejet flight. He was found in possession of 480 grams of Ganja, which was clandestinely concealed in his travel bag. The contraband was seized, and the accused person was arrested on the spot after observing all codal formalities as per Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. He was later released on bail.

A case under relevant section of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered at Anti-Narcotics Police Station and further investigation is currently under progress. The raid was conducted under the overall supervision of Shri Mohd Irshad Haider, IPS, SP (CID), A&N Islands.
