Port Blair, Oct. 18: The much awaited Centenary Celebration of Film Festival 2012 is being organized at Port Blair from 2nd to 4th of November, 2012. The Centenary Celebration of the Film Festival is being organized by the Directorate of IP&T in collaboration with the Directorate of Film Festival under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, New Delhi.

This time the screening of the award winning films will be done at 04 venues i.e. BRAIT Auditorium Pahargaon, PBMC Auditorium, Aberdeen Bazar, ASI Auditorium (opposite Directorate of IP&T) and the Multipurpose Hall of the Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works near Fisheries Jetty. Efforts have been made to cover films from Hindi as well as other regional languages. A host of reputed Film personalities, Directors and famous star casts are expected to grace the occasion. The department is also trying to hold one day workshop on nuances of film making by some of the eminent personalities.

This time Directorate is not only trying to get the old award winning films but also some of the latest releases for special screening for islanders. The inauguration of the Centenary Celebration of the Film Festival will take place at BRAIT Auditorium on 2nd of November, 2012 by the Hon'ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands. Last time, the screening of award winning films under the banner of Indian Panorama Film Festival was taken up in the month of February, 2011.
