Car Nicobar, Nov. 11: National Education day was celebrated in this remote tribal region also, with great enthusiasm. The students of the different schools of Car nicobar took out Prabhat ferries in the morning. They were raising slogans on the theme of Education. The students of the Govt. Senior Secondary School Lapathy took out a rally in the morning around 6.AM, covering the entire village.  The students spread the message of the importance of Literacy, to common people. Later the students participated in the elocution competition, which was based upon the life and contribution of Maulan Abul Kalam Azad.

Students also presented their self composed poems, based on literacy. Shri Emmanual, PGT in his speech said that Maulana Azad had a vision of making a self reliant India with the power of Education. He called upon the students to take the responsibility of educating the Illiterate people of their villages. “Each one teach one” should be the mission of every student, he said.

Similar programs were also conducted by the Govt. Sec. School Mus, Govt.M.S. School Tamaloo and other schools. In spite of today being the Sunday, the attendance of the students in the schools was good.

The National Education Day is celebrated every year today on the birth Anniversary of the great freedom fighter and Educationist Maulan Abul Kalam Azad.
