Port Blair, Oct. 16: Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has written a letter to the Lt Governor stating that the swimming pool at Sports complex has been liked and loved by one and all.

The children, house wives, men and women have learnt swimming from this pool, which is very much essential for the people who stay in Islands. He also stated that people who are swimmers, use this pool for practising which is very good for one’s health.

Sharma therefore requested the Lt Governor to consider such pools in other parts of Islands also viz Diglipur, Rangat, Mayabunder, Neil Kendra, Havelock, Hut Bay, Campbell bay and other parts of Nicobar groups of islands. He has stated that such pools will give the people of those places, specially the children, fair scope of learning swimming while others may use for practising swimming.

Advocating for swimming pools at various places, Sharma said that in the islands, people must have facilities of swimming pools to avoid any mishap in sea water. Shri Sharma has also stated that people will accept such pools as a place of good exercise.

By opening of such pools, some unemployed swimmers also will get jobs as a trainers. It was also suggested for a separate pool at Gymkhana Ground for kids.
