Port Blair, May 1: A multi-speciality ‘Medical and Healthy Life Style Awareness Camp’ was successfully conducted on 30 Apr 11 for the population of Katchaal Is. The medical camp was organized by INHS Dhanvantari under the aegis of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC). The camp was inaugurated by Command Medical Officer Surg Capt DK Ghosh. 
 
The response of the public to the camp conducted was overwhelming and immensely gratifying. A total of 191 patients attended the medical camp at Katchaal. The general OPD benefitted 75 patients at Katchaal with varying lifestyle diseases, especially diabetes and hypertension. 33 Ultrasound tests at Katchaal were also carried out by the Radiologist using State of art portable Ultrasound machine. The ENT OPD benefitted 32 patients at Katchaal with refractive problems. In the Eye OPD 09 cases of Cataract were detected, which will be operated in the INHS Dhanvantari later and glasses for 21 patients were prescribed. Lecture on Healthy Life Style was taken by Officer-in-Charge Station Health Organisation (Port Blair) for people attending the camp. 
 
Meanwhile a multi-speciality ‘Medical and Healthy Life Style Awareness Camp’ was also conducted on 01 May 11 for the population of Kamorta Is. The medical camp was organized by INHS Dhanvantari under the aegis of the Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC). The camp was inaugurated by Command Medical Officer Surg Capt DK Ghosh. 
 
The response of the public to the camp conducted was enormous and greatly gratifying. A total of 91 patients attended the medical camp at Kamorta. The general OPD benefitted 28 patients at Kamorta with varying lifestyle diseases, especially diabetes and hypertension. 29 Ultrasound tests at Kamorta were also carried out by the Radiologist using State of art portable Ultrasound machine. The ENT OPD benefitted 17 patients at Kamorta with refractive problems. The Eye OPD benefitted 17 cases out of which 04 were Cataract, 06 were refractive error who have prescribed glasses and other eye cases. Lecture on Healthy Life Style was taken by Officer-in-Charge Station Health Organisation (Port Blair) for people attending the camp.
 
Command Medical Officer emphasized on the regular conduct of such medical camps across all the far flung islands which will benefit the population of the islands. He congratulated the medical team for this successful endeavor.
