Port Blair, July 4: As a part of ongoing 62nd Vanmahtosava celebration in these islands, a rally was organised by the Forest Extension & Publicity Division, Haddo under Department of Environment & Forests today. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shri Madhawa Trivedi flagged off the Rally in the morning from Van Sadan, Haddo. Over 80 students from various schools around Port Blair besides officers and Staff from Department of Environment & Forests, in large numbers, participated in the rally.

 

The rally culminated at Coast Guard Complex, Haddo where about 30 Coast Guard Officials participated in the tree planting ceremony along with the students. Shri N. Somasundaram, Commanding Officer (Coast Guard) and Shri Suresh, Deputy Commandant (Executive Officer), graced the occasion.
