Diglipur, May 4: The Green Valedictory function of greenagers eco club of GSS Subashgram was held on 3rd May 2011 at the school premises. All the green days like National Environmental Awareness Campaign, Paryavaran Mitra activities, The Energy and resources institute’s Green Olympiad were the club’s main involvement for the last session. 
 
The Green cadets enthusiastically participated in all the activities. As a part of the valedictory function, the green cadets contributed paper bags for free distribution among the shopkeepers of Diglipur Island. Keeping the sprit up as compared to the previous years, Green cadets this year made 30000 (thirty thousand) eco friendly paper bags. A truck full of paper bags were freely distributed to the shopkeepers and vegetable vendors with the request and appeal to stop using polybags in their trade.
 
Kumar Animesh Das of Class X A contributed 3000 paper bags for the campaign.
 
The school also felicitated three students Animesh Das, Chandan Biswas and J Vivek for being emerging as the state topper in Green Olympiad 2010. They were handed over a cheque worth Rs. 3000/-. Teri. Nishan biswas of class X was awarded with “Eco Star Award 2010-2011” for his outstanding performance and participation in all the green activities of the school Eco Club. The year long green activities were carried out under the leadership and guidance of Shri Bency Joy, Eco Club Incharge of the school.
 
The Chief Guest of the function Shri B D Sharma, DEO, Diglipur presented prizes and green certificate to all the green cadets and appreciated them for their involvement in the Eco activities. Vice Principal of the school Shri Shyamal Mazumdar, welcomed the gathering on the occasion while Shri S. Duryodhan, GTT proposed the vote of thanks.
