Port Blair, Aug 11: To contain the spread of COVID 19 Pandemic, along with other departments, PBMC is also in the forefront to keep the city clean and Sanitized. All the Quarantine Homes / Vulnerable areas are being Sanitized by the Field Staffs of PBMC who are provided with proper PPE kit for their own safety. The Containment areas declared by Administration are also being cleared of the garbage dumps after getting due entry permission from the District Administration.

Connectivity will boost the Opportunities in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands says Prime Minister
Port Blair, Aug. 10: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today launched and dedicated to the nation, the submarine Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) connecting Andaman & Nicobar Islands to the mainland through video conferencing. The foundation stone for this project was laid by the PM on 30th December 2018 at Port Blair.

Port Blair, Aug. 10: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration in exercise of the powers conferred under Disaster Management Act 2005 has issued directions vide order No. CS/Sr.PS/05/2020 dated 30th July 2020 which will be applicable in whole of Andaman and Nicobar Islands till 31st August 2020.
In view of rising number of COVID-19 cases in the A&N Islands, it is deemed necessary that additional restrictions be imposed in areas outside the containment zones.
Accordingly the District Magistrates of South Andaman, N&M Andaman and Nicobar District have ordered the following to remain in force till 18.08.2020.

Health Centres Across South Andaman Badly Affected Due to COVID-19
Port Blair, Aug. 10: As many as 42 doctors under the Directorate of Health Services have been tested positive to Corona Virus. According to a data presented to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, 0.27 percentage of population of Andaman & Nicobar Islands have been affected due to COVID-19, which is increasing at the rate of 0.02 per cent on an average per day. The number of deaths due to the virus has also been increasing at a rapid pace, with no proper solution to contain the pandemic in the islands.
