On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all my respected Islanders. I am happy that the Festival of lights is being celebrated across Andaman and Nicobar Islands along with rest of the Country, by its people irrespective of caste, colour and creed which is a strong re-affirmation of the Island's secular traditions. Diwali marks victory of good over evil and is an occasion to reinforce bonds of brotherhood in the society.

He reminded the Islanders of the two golden rules of maintaining ‘2 gaj ki doori’ and wearing of the face mask when in public.
