More Doses of COVISHIELD Expected to Arrive This Week
Port Blair, June 22: Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh today said that the priority of the Administration is to protect its citizens from corona virus. In this regard, more impetus is being given to vaccinate maximum number of beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years.
The best way to deal with the virus is to get oneself vaccinated. Vaccination is an important tool in our hand which can save us from the menace of the virus. He further stated that vaccination drive has gained momentum and is continuing smoothly. The Administration will be receiving more doses of free COVISHIELD vaccine from Govt. of India within this week, he said.

Port Blair, June 22: Continuing with its efforts to provide relief to needy persons who have been hit badly due to the second wave of the COVID pandemic and the subsequent lockdown imposed by the District Administration to contain the spread of the virus, ration kits were distributed by the District Administration at the e-Patwarkhana, Bathubasti in coordination with the Traders Association of Bhatubasti (TAB). Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA), SDM (SA) and AC (U/T) distributed many as 60 ration kits today. More relief kits have been arranged by the Association, which will be distributed to the needy in the coming days.

Port Blair, June 22: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, ANI today flagged off Mortuary Van at Ferrargunj junction, donated by Shri V K Abdul Aziz, Social Worker from Bindraban Panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said that the work of Shri V K Abdul Aziz during Covid period will be remembered. He has distributed free ration, vegetables, sanitizers, face masks, organized blood donation camps, provided pick & drop service from Bindraban, Mathura and nearby area to the Hospital. We look forward to more from Shri V K Abdul Aziz and his team to continue serving the needy and this Mortuary Van was much needed for the villagers especially in difficult moments.

Port Blair, June 22: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators has requested the Chief Secretary to make arrangements to provide atleast the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to the tourism workforce of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
M Vinod, President AATO in a letter to the Chief Secretary wrote that after having been through a deadly second wave, the tourism stakeholders have concluded that the only exit from this pandemic is the vaccination of each and every individual. While the vaccination drive in Andamans is going with full steam and 100% coverage must be achieved, tourism is one industry that needs urgent attention.

Port Blair, June 22: The Merchant Navy Officers Association (MNOA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands distributed 100 Ration Relief kits to needy families in areas like Anarkali, Shoalbay-8, Papita Pahad, Wright Myo, Malapuram, Mannarghat, Haddo, Dignabad, Ograbrunj, Namunaghar, Hathi Tapu, Dandus Point, Coffee Bageecha and Round Basti Areas. In the campaign Mr. Shamim, Cable Operator, Nimbu Bageecha had come forward to reach the ration kits to the entitled beneficiaries.
