Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 2: A & N State School Chess Championship2024 was organized on 28th December 2024 at the auditorium of Govt. Girls’ Sr. Sec. School, Sri Vijaya Puram for school students of various categories including Under 07, Under 09, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 Boys & Girls.
This championship was organized in connection with the upcoming 13th National School Chess Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Andhra Pradesh from January 17 to 21, 2025.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 2: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A & N Islands has deeply mourned the sudden demise of Shri Basant Rao Babras, R/o RGT Road, Sri Vijaya Puram. Shri Basant Rao Babras, an old inhabitant of the islands, passed away at the age of 84 this morning at Sri Vijaya Puram.

Kumbh holds a special place in Indian culture, known as 'Sarvasiddhipradaha Kumbh'-the bestower of all siddhis. This grand event intricately weaves together India's spiritual, religious, cultural, and social traditions. UNESCO has recognized Kumbh as an 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 2: Employees Welfare Association of ICAR- Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram (CARIEWA) conducted a farewell to two of its staff on December 31, 2024 at Dr. T. R. Dutta Conference Hall of the Institute. Mr. R. Dharma Rao, Skilled Supporting Staff, attained the age of superannuation while Mr. Kishore Tete, Technical Officer got transferred to the ICAR-National Institute of Secondary Agriculture, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
