Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 30: The 13th Shaheed Swaraj Dweep Samooh Naman Yatra, organized by the Shaheed Swaraj Foundation, from 27th – 30th December 2024 at Sri Vijaya Puram, to commemorate the historic first-ever hoisting of the Tricolour on Indian soil by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on 30th December, 1943. The event saw the participation of around sixty nationalists from various states of India, alongside local islanders, who participated in several programs and tours under the leadership of Mannaniya Indresh Kumar Ji, Margdarshak of the Rashtriya Suraksha Jagran Manch (Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS)).

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 30: The Delegate Session of the Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) held at Atul Smriti Samiti Hall (Bengali Club), Port Blair on 29th December, 2024 elected a 19-member State Organising Committee. D. Ayyappan has been re-elected as the Secretary. An 8-member State Secretariat was also elected in the Conference. The Conference also elected D. Ayyappan as Delegate from Andaman & Nicobar Islands to attend the 24th Party Congress scheduled to be held at Madurai, Tamil Nadu from 2nd to 6th April, 2025.   

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 30: Revenue Officials of the District Administration, South Andaman, received specialized training during a one-day Regional Level Pollution Response Exercise conducted by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The exercise, designed to enhance the preparedness, coordination and emphasized the critical role of Revenue officials in managing marine pollution incidents effectively.

Mayabunder, Dec. 30: The District TB Officer (DTO), N&M Andaman, Dr. Prabir Kumar Palit, along with his team conducted a site visit to PHC Kadamtala to monitor and supervise the implementation of National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) activities. During the visit, the DTO inspected the laboratory facilities and engaged in discussions with the Medical Officer in Charge (MO i/c) regarding the increase of sputum referrals for presumptive TB examinations.
