Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 25: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, has stressed for the need to convene Administrator’s Advisory Council (AAC) and State Plan Board (SPB) meetings for ensuring inclusive discussions and decision making.
In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble LG, the MP has observed that in the absence of structured discussions and deliberations through established democratic forums in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, coordination between elected body and the Administration is missing. Historically, Administrators (Lt. Governors) of the Islands used to head State Plan Board meetings annually, facilitating discussions and decisions on major developmental works utilizing UT budget grants.

The manager of Hotel Nakshatra, situated at Goalghar, has violated specific directives related to guest registration, check-in procedures, and security measures in the hotel.

Nancowry, Nov. 25: A Legal Awareness Campaign was organized by the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry in association with the A&N State Legal Service Authority A&N Administration on Nov. 23 & 24 under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan at Nancowry. Shri Bhawani Shanker Sharma, Registrar-cum-Member Secretary, A&N State Legal Service Authority interacted with the Head of Office, Tribal leaders, Police Personnel, Health Workers at EOC Conference Hall, Kamorta on Nov. 23. During the interaction, he emphasised that the role of parents and teachers are more significant in educating children and young adults about the severe consequence of using drugs and how to prevent sexual abuse.
