Port Blair, July 16: As part of boosting of Fish production and diversification of Aquaculture activities in A&N Islands, the Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration in coordination with Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture, Kodiyaghat intends to distribute Tiger Shrimp Seeds (Penaeus Monodon) at nominal applicable rates to the Fish Farmers undertaking Shrimp farming in Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 22nd to 25th July, 2024.

Interested and eligible candidates can visit the official website and register themselves for new OD Land online mode courses of IGNOU. The admission process is fully online, and one needs following documents for register: scanned passport size photograph, scanned signature, scanned documents of required educational qualifications etc. For fee payment, candidates can make use of credit card, debit card and other online payment methods.

Port Blair, July 15: On 14th July 2024, at approximately 1855 hours, Police Station Ograbraj received a phone call reporting a murder at Bachra Pahad, Chouldari. The caller indicated that a son had killed his father. Acting swiftly, police team comprising of SI Devanand Pathak, SHO PS Ograbraj, SIs K.V. Abdul Salam, Agnes Barthloma, HCs Vijay Kumar, Ashok Kr. Roy, PCs Jayanto Biswas, Martin & Abdul Rehman was formed and instantly rushed to the spot. Upon arrival, they encountered the complainant Shri Manas Chakraborthy near the location. Manas identified the deceased inside the house as his father-in-law Narayan Ch. Mondal. Manas stated that his father-in-law regularly visited his brother-in-law Pawan Ch. Mondal, who lived alone at Bachra Pahad to bring him food.
