Port Blair, Feb 13: The Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, GoI, Shri Som Parkash, IAS (Retd.), currently on visit to these Islands, today visited Swaraj Dweep Jetty and also inspected the newly constructed approach way to the Jetty. The Minister also visited the Sagarmala Project site and reviewed the progress/status of the project. The Minister was briefed about the cost of the project, capacity of the Passenger Hall and its current work status and the completion date of the project. The Secretary, Shipping, Shri Arjun Sharma, the Special Secretary, Shipping, Shri Amit Kale and officials of PMB and ALHW were present on the occasion.

Port Blair, Feb 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations will commence from Feb.15, 2024 in these Islands. The AISSE (Class X) exams will commence with Painting as first paper on Feb.15, 2024. However, the main papers will begin from Feb. 20, 2024 with Bengali /Tamil /Telugu. The students of AISSCE (Class XII) will have Hindi paper on Feb. 19, 2024. The Class X exam will end on March 13, 2024 with subject Computer Application/Information Technology while the Class XII exam will end on April 2, 2024 with subject Information Practice/Computer Science/Information Technology. All arrangements have been made to monitor and ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

Ahmedabad, Feb 13: The annual event of the Gujarati diaspora worldwide, the Pravasi Gujarati Parv 2024 was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, from 10th February to 12th February. The Parv was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel in the presence of Shri Biman Prasad, Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji. The event aims in preserving and promoting Gujarati culture, heritage, and language.
