Port Blair, Feb 8: The National De-worming Day 2024 (First round) will be implemented in A&N Islands on Feb.9, 2024 (as 10th February is 2nd Saturday) followed by Mop up on Feb.17, 2024. During this round, Albendazole Tablet will be administered to students at Schools and Anganwadi Centres.

The range of services provided by the Helpline Number 1950 have been refurbished and made easily accessible. Now any citizen from any part of these Islands can call on Voter Helpline Number 1950, the Toll- Free Number for any query or complaint at any time of the day. Callers can enquire on subjects such as voter registration process, enrolled electors in the Electoral Roll can check the details of their personal information, Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC), elections, voting dates, online registration, the polling station planned for them on the Poll day, to know the contact details of District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer & Booth Level Officers. They can lodge a complaint by simply dialling the Toll-Free No.

Port Blair, Feb 8: To invoke the blessings of GOD, Chinmaya Mission Port Blair will be conducting special Ganapathi Homam on Sunday 11th February, 2024 for the students of Class X and XII of CBSE board examination. The homam will be held at Mission from 8 am onwards. After the Homam, breakfast will be provided to the participants followed by counseling session. Port Blair, Feb 8: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands organized the “Tuber Crops Diversity Fair” at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sippighat, South Andaman, Port Blair here today.
Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Head, KVK, South Andaman, highlighted the scope of the marketing and value-addition opportunities in the Tuber Crops. Dr. Y. Ramakrishna urged the farmers for utilizing the improved technologies available with the Institute and the All India Coordinated Research Project on Tuber Crops for incorporating the successful Tuber Crops cultivation in island cropping / farming systems.
