Port Blair, July 6: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to provide special Buses for the candidates at Baratang Island so that they can reach their Exam Centers at Port Blair and Rangat on time.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament said that the Combined Matric Level Recruitment Exam is being organized by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration on 9th July 2023 at various Centers across the Islands. As this is a rare opportunity for recruitment in government jobs, thousands of candidates from all over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be appearing for this crucial recruitment exam.

Port Blair, July 6: This is clarified to the candidates that the reservation benefits for ST category is applicable only to those STs as specified in the Constitutional Order No. 1959 of A & N Islands (Scheduled Tribes). Besides, the reservation benefits for OBC category are applicable only to those OBCs as specified in the A&N Administration’s Circular No. 8-3/2003-TW dated 30th March, 2006, in the direct recruitment of various posts of A&N Police Department.

Diglipur, July 6: Continuing its crackdown on the illicit liquor, Handia, & illegal sale of IMFL, the District Police of North & Middle Andaman with the help of local informers conducted regular raids and searches in jungles. During the month of June-2023, the teams of various Police Stations, headed by SHOs and Sub-Inspectors conducted raids & massive jungle search operation. In these search operations, around 25 litres of illicit liquor & 40 Kgs Handia were destroyed and also 57 Nos. IMFL bottles of different quantities have been seized and 21 persons were arrested under Excise Regulation cases. All the History Sheeters are regularly being checked by the beat staff, making it hard for them to be involved in any illegal activity and fresh history sheet of bootleggers has opened for surveillance.

Port Blair, July 6: Shri Vishal Jolly National Executive Member BJP and Former State President BJP ANI wrote a letter to Chief Secretary, A & N Administration regarding shifting of the equipments, materials and the entire set up of Primary Health Center to Government School building, considering the dilapidated condition of the PHC Building, Mile Tilak

In his letter he wrote that the present condition of the existing building of Primary Health Center, Mile Tilak is in shambles and anytime the same may fall. It is dangerous for the medical officials, staffs and patients to enter the premises and work from the existing building.

Port Blair, July 6: A delegation of CITU comprising R. Surendran Pillai, President, D. Ayyappan, Vice President and SP Kalairajan, Secretary of CITU Andaman & Nicobar State Committee met the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, A & N Forest Department today (6th July, 2023) and discussed with him various issues relating to the workers of the Forest Department.
