Port Blair, April 25: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,72,391 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,420 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 11,353 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 18,398.

Port Blair, April 24: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to establish a Fisheries College of International Standard in the Islands so that the youths of Andaman & Nicobar are benefitted.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament said that Andaman & Nicobar Islands are situated right at the middle of Bay of Bengal, which is a gold mine for fisheries. Unfortunately we are unable to tap the immense potential of fisheries till date, mostly because of lack of trained manpower and technical expertise.

Stakeholders briefed about intent of EOIs to be floated by Tourism Department
Port Blair, April 23: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain has recently directed the Tourism Department to issue Expression of Interests (EOIs) for events and activities related to development and promotion of Tourism in A&N Islands. In line with this, Tourism stakeholders were briefed about the EOIs during a meeting held by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka and Special Secretary (IP&T), Shri Hari Kallikkat today with the representatives of ACCI, Hotel Association, Shipping Association and other stakeholders.

Port Blair, April 24: The panchayat representatives of Hope Town, Shore Point, Bambooflat 1, Bambooflat 2, Stewardgunj, Mannarghat, Shoal Bay, Brindaban, Ferrargunj, Mithakhari, Tushnabad and several panchayats of North & Middle Andaman boycotted the Gram Sabha meeting organized on the occasion of "Panchayati Raj Day" by the District Administration on Sunday, alleging that the elected members are not being considered in the decision making.

Port Blair, April 24: On the occasion of Earth Day, the Port Blair Municipal Council organised a Beach Cleaning in Mazar Pahad on 22.04.2022 in which the volunteers from Nature Club and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell of JNRM took part. The students collected different types of wastes like Biodegradable and Non-Biodegradable.
