Port Blair, Feb 27: On 27.02.2022, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Jain, IPS, IGP (L&O) A&N Islands along with Sh. Vijay Singh, IPS, DIGP (Intl.), Sh. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP (CID), Smti. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SP (Comm./Fire) and other senior officers held the briefing at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar auditorium for all the Police personnel deployed in Panchayat and Municipal election duties. SsP, SDPOs and SHOs of North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar district joined the briefing through virtual mode.

Port Blair, Feb 27: As part of the ensuing Panchayat & Municipal Elections-2022, the Office of the Director, Panchayat and Municipal Elections (DPME) is organising training programmes regularly for the Officials engaged in the conduct of the Elections-2022. Accordingly, today training was organised for the Presiding Officers and Polling Officials of Municipal Elections - 2022 in the auditorium of DBRAIT.

Port Blair, Feb. 27: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 269 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 15 flights with 2518 passengers arrived, out of which, 2186 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 250 passengers (07foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited.

The Nodal Officer, Training & Vehicle, Dr. Aom Dhole was also present on the occasion.     

Port Blair, Feb 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Prime Minister of India, New Delhi to allow landing of flights for a certain window period of 4 to 5 hours daily so that Andaman Nicobar Islands are not cut off from rest of country.

In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of India, the Member of Parliament mentioned that this has come to his knowledge that the Andaman Nicobar Command has directed to close the only runway of Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for four consecutive days of each week for March, April & May 2022 for which a NOTAM has also been issued.
