Sri Vijaya Puram, March 3: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CIARI) conducted a meeting with representatives from the Andaman Association of Tour Operators, Andaman Travel Agent Association, and Andaman Nicobar Tour Operators Association at its Sippighat and Garacharma farms. The visit was part of ICAR-CIARI’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable agro-eco tourism in the region.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated Police Team from Anti-Narcotics Police Station, led by Inspector Pritam Behari, SHO Anti-Narcotics Police Station carried out this operation which included SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, PSI S. Sudharsanan , ASI Surya Narayan, PC/ Ratan Das, PC/ Nanak Singh, PC/ M. Raja Rao and PC/Nandita Mistry. The operation was conducted under the overall leadership of Shri Manish Kumar, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics).

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 3: A Training Workshop on State/District and Block Level on 7th Minor Irrigation Census and 2nd Census of Water Bodies was held today in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo, Sri Vijaya Puram to create awareness about the water which is a very essential resource in A&N Islands and significantly contribute to the agriculture economy by enabling crop production through irrigation. The two censuses are to build an accurate and comprehensive database which will serve as tools not only for monitoring and evaluating various schemes but also for efficient management of water resource of the UT of A & N Islands.
