Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: The District Magistrate, South Andaman District has notified for the information of all concerned that the annual “PANGUNI UTTARAM” festival will be celebrated at Lord Subramaniaswamy Devasthanam (Murugan Temple), RGT Road, Sri Vijiyapuram on 11.04.2025 and for this purpose the following diversion have been made for the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: The online nominations/recommendations for Padma Awards namely ‘Padma Vibhushan’, ‘Padma Bhushan’ and ‘Padma Shri’ has started from 15th March, 2025 and the last date for nominations is 31st July, 2025. These awards are announced on the occasion of the Republic day every year. The award seeks to recognize ‘Work of distinction’ and is given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields/disciplines, such as, Art, Literature & Education, Sports, Medicine, Social work, Science & Engineering, Public affairs, Civil services, Trade and Industry etc. All persons without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex are eligible for these Awards. A copy of the statutes and rules relating to these awards is available in MHA’s website www.padmaawards.gov.in.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: Shri Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated at Chinmaya Mission, Sri Vijaya Puram on Saturday 12th April 2025 from 9 am to noon 12 pm. The programme will start at 9 am with Sunderkand path followed by Abhishekam and archana at 10.30 am. From 11.15 am onwards Bhajan and Satsang will be held followed by Arari and Prasad distribution at 12 pm. All the devotees are requested to attend the programme.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: The Sports Department Football Tournament-2025 will commence from 15th April, 2025. All the matches will be played as per the fixture and all team Managers have been informed to be present on the field according to the matches schedule. The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on 15th April, 2025 at 5 pm. It is mandatory for all registered teams to be present during the opening ceremony with proper team jersey.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 10: The general public have been informed that due to the ongoing migration from the ePDS system to the SMART PDS system, all Ration Card services will be temporarily unavailable. The migration process is expected to be completed by 20th April, 2025. During this period, access to Ration Card services will remain suspended.
