Port Blair, Feb 4: The District Child Protection Unit under the District Administration (SA) organized an awareness programme at Community Hall, Shaheed Dweep to sensitize the ICDS workers and Community Leaders on the Adoption regulation of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) emphasising that all the parents/ person desiring to adopt child must register themselves in CARINGS (CARA) Portal.

Port Blair, Feb. 3: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Secretary (Sports), A&N Administration for early posting of Sports Officer for North & Middle Andaman District. In absence of sports officer, no sports activities have been conducted since last two years. Moreover the youths/talented sports persons are not getting opportunities for their regular practices to participate in the sports meets at various level (District/State/National).

Port Blair, Feb 3: In order to contain the outbreak of COVID-19 in these islands, the Directorate of Shipping Services under the directives of A & N Administration had suspended operation of its vessels to Mainland Island since March, 2020 between Port Blair, Kolkata, Chennai & Vizag. However, during the pandemic period special arrangements were made by this directorate for transhipment of stranded personnel from Mainland Island to Port Blair.
