Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to sanction a Multi-Purpose Hall for Baratang region under the Khelo India.
The Member of Parliament informed the Lt. Governor that the Baratang Island of Middle Andaman is always known for producing many talented Sports persons for National and International Level in the field of Rowing, Kayaking, Hockey, Football etc.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: Continuing war against drugs, team PS Aberdeen nabbed two persons for possessing illicit ganja weighing 2.289 kg.
On 02/12/2022, on receiving credible and specific information, consecutive raids were conducted by team of PS Aberdeen, comprising of HC Sunil Singh Yadav, HC Preeti, PCs S. N. Phathak, Sandeep Lakra, Sonu Yadav, Ashish Singh, D. Shiv Kumar and Shem Peter led by Inpr. K. Joju, SHO PS Aberdeen. They arrested two persons, residents of Dollygunj and Guptapara and recovered illicit ganja weighing 2289 grams from their possession. Both the accused persons have been arrested after observing all codal formalities and booked under appropriate sections of law under NDPS Act.

Port Mout, Dec. 11: A special screening camp on prevention and control of “Non Communicable Disease” i.e. Hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer and Stroke and an AYUSH Camp was held at IRBn HQ, Port Mout on 10.12.2022 in association with DHS, Port Blair. Smti. Noorjahan, Health Educator addressed the programme and emphasis the objective of this camp.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti has requested the Lt. Governor to instruct the Department of Civil Supplies to re-commence special camp drives for Aadhar registration and update in all schools of the Islands. In a letter to the Lt. Governor, the HRS Presidents, Shri Rakeshwar Lall mentioned that such special camps were being conducted earlier by the concerned department. This is also because the parents are forced to go to the department time and again, which causes great inconvenience.

Port Blair, Dec. 11: The Subramania Bharati Jayanti as Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas was observed at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Institute of Technology in a befitting manner today. A Language Festival in the name of 'Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav' was celebrated with the objective to provide students with information about Indian languages, to encourage students to learn a few more Indian languages.
