Reason for Increasing Deaths in the Islands is Due to Delay in Reporting Symptoms, Say Doctors

Port Blair, May 30: The State President, BJP, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi and Shri, Uday Shankar Singh, State Media Convener, BJP visited G.B Pant Hospital, Port Blair and inspected various COVID wards, suspect COVID ward and other facilities at the hospital. They also visited the COVID ICU during their visit.

During their visit, they interacted with patients in COVID wards and enquired the problems faced. The patients gave a positive feedback on their treatment at G.B Pant Hospital.

Port Blair, May 30: Continuing with the preparedness for fighting COVID -19, the South Andaman District Administration has initiated various measures to enforce Covid restrictions at all places and for management of COVID Care Centres.

In this regard to boost the medical requirements, 150 oxygen concentrators have been received on 29th May 2021. Distribution of vegetables was carried out for the needy and poor at Brindavan. Officers of District Administration visited the Covid Care Center at Wimberlygunj to assess the situation.

Port Blair, May 30: Upon receiving a request from Swarajdeep (Havelock) that few needy families need immediate assistance, the event management company 4 Seasons immediately arranged and dispatched the required ration kits. Special arrangements were made to send the articles since there are no government boats being operated at the moment. 4 Seasons has called upon people to come forward and help anyone who is in real need, especially people within the locality.

Port Blair, May 30: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands and so far, a total of 6,695 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.  As per the data available, altogether, 197 persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District while 43 people in this age group were vaccinated in South Andaman District today. With this, a total of 1,25,285 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands.
