Port Blair, Sept. 29: For the convenience of the PDS beneficiaries, food grains shall be distributed in advance for 2 months for October and November 2022 in one go in the entire UT in the month of October, 2022 itself. All the ration card holders/PDS beneficiaries have been informed that they can purchase the foodgrains as per their entitlement for 2 months in October, 2022 itself.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: As part of ‘POSHAN Maah-2022’, various programmes were organized in Schools and Anganwadi Centres under the jurisdiction of HWC Chouldari. Under this programme, Health Mela was conducted at Community Hall Chouldari on Sept. 24 in which the Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Chouldari, Smti. Tapasi Saha was the chief guest on the occasion. Smti. Noor Jahan, Health Educator welcomed the gathering while Smti. Vasanta, Health Education Officer & Shri Abdul Salam, Health Educator, spoke on the importance of health & nutrition in today's life.

Port Blair, Sep 14: The closing ceremony of Hindi fortnight was held today 29-09-2022 at Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair wherein the Chief Guest, Shri T.N. Krishnamoorthi, Chief Engineer and Administrator, ALHW and Smt A. Chitra, Director (E) and Head of Office, DDK, Port Blair distributed Medals, Certificates and cash rewards to winners of various competitions held during the fortnight.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: As part of the ‘Mega Blood Donation Drive, 2022’ launched of Govt. of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi which commenced from September 17 and continue upto Oct.1 in A & N Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) coordinated the Voluntary Blood Donation camp which was organized by Office of GE Minnie Bay in coordination with G. B. Pant Hospital today. A total of 34 units of blood were donated by voluntary donors.
