Member of Parliament Demands Release of Adequate Compensation to Victims of Aerial Bay Fire Accident

Port Blair, Oct. 19: Expressing his dismay and concern on the Aerial Bay fire accident, the Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to send a team to Aerial Bay, Diglipur to assess the damages and release adequate compensation to the fire victims as early as possible.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: Shrihaan Karmakar, a student of third standard Kendriya Vidyalaya-2 performed brilliantly in the DAV International Open Fide Rated Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament held at Pallikarai Chennai from 15th and 16th October 2022. He secured 9th rank in the under 8 category and was awarded with trophy and certificate.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, along with Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SA), Shri Rahul Dev Boora, IAS (Probationer), Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS (Probationer) and Tehsildar, Port Blair visited the areas predominantly inhabited by Ranchi community such as Ranchi Basti, Attam Pahad, Mahaveer Nagar. The Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council and concerned Ward Councilors also accompanied.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Andaman Sarvajanik Nirman Vibhag Mazdoor Sangh (ASNVMS), affiliated to CITU, has conducted a territory-wide mass demonstration in front of the offices of the APWD today (19.10.2022), demanding (i) implementation of High Court order on grant of 1/30th of pay plus DA Scheme of Govt. of India (ii) implementation of High Court order on grant of Bonus to all daily rated mazdoors and (iii) rgularisation of services of DRMs.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded adequate compensation to all the fire victims at Aerial Bay Market, Diglipur, North Andaman. In a letter sent to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands today (19.10.2022), Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee has said that in the fire broke out at Aerial Bay, Diglipur on 18th October, 2022 afternoon, about 9 shops have been gutted.
