Port Blair, May 23: The District Administration in its continuous efforts to contain the spread of the pandemic has been actively promoting vaccination. In order to protect the children of the Child Care Institutions, the Administration has conducted vaccination drive for children and staff above the age of 18 in these Institutions.

Port Blair, May 23: The vaccination drive is being held in A&N Islands. About 406 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman today. The online registration for the vaccination is done through CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App. Online registration is mandatory and no on-site registration will be done and people have been advised to reach the centres as per the time schedule provided to the beneficiaries through the App. In South Andaman, the vaccination is being done at JNRM Vaccination Centre between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The general public have been requested to follow Covid appropriate behavior while going for vaccination.

Port Blair, May 22: As per IMD forecast, a Low pressure area is very likely to form over north Andaman Sea and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal around 23rd May. It is very likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm by 24th May and will be named as ‘YAAS’, once it is fully formed. It is likely to move north-west wards and reach near Odisha- West Bengal coasts around 26th May. Under its influence, squally winds with speeds up to 65 to 75 Kmph gusting to 85 kmph from 24th May onwards are expected over major parts of Andaman Sea and central Bay of Bengal.
