Project Worth Rs. 9.97 Crore Expected to Complete in 6-8 Months
Port Blair, Oct. 12: The work of Marina Road Restructuring under the proposed Smart City project of construction of Marine Esplanade commenced today at Marina Park in the presence of CEO, Port Blair Smart Projects Limited and other officials. The length of the road to be restructured is 1.495 kms from flag point to the end of Marina Park. The project cost is Rs. 9.97 Cr and is likely to be completed in six to eight months period.

Port Blair, Oct. 12: The recent weather forecast indicates a low pressure area which is likely to develop over North Andaman sea and neighborhood around 14th Oct 2020. The low pressure is very likely to intensify into a depression over Central Bay of Bengal. Further, it is likely to move west-north westwards towards north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts.

Port Blair, Oct. 12: To strengthen the preventive measures of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Vijay Singh IPS, DIGP, A&N Islands today visited PS Car Nicobar. He looked into the preventive and enforcement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Nicobar Islands. He also took stock of the various facets of COVID-19 cases in Car Nicobar and also interacted with police personnel in a ‘Sampark Sabha’ held to redress the grievances of the police staff.

Port Blair, Oct. 12: The Indian Coast Guard in close liaison with other stake holders is prepared to meet any threat emanating from the sea. To strengthen the existing security mechanism and mature Interoperability, Coastal Security Exercise Sagar Kavach is conducted and coordinated by Indian Coast Guard twice a year. The exercise aims to assess the effectiveness of the Coastal Security Structure in guarding against/preventing unauthorised landings and fishing community in serving as “Eyes and Ears” for early warning towards seaward threat. The Coastal Security Exercise for the year 2020 is being conducted from 14 and 15 Oct 20. The exercise is will be conducted with assets/ personnel drawn from all 17 stakeholders responsible for Coastal Security setup of the A&N Islands and overseen by the Chief Secretary (A & N).
