Port Blair, Mar. 1: The common refrain has been that since 1992, maximum amount of money has been spent in the Marina area, so the aim of the Govt. is to now develop a different level of sea experiences from Flag Point to Corbyn’s Cove. Many plans are afoot, many suggestions from people have been called and many facilities have been planned. To materialize this vision, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain undertook an extensive inspection of the entire stretch from Flag Point to Corbyn’s Cove this morning.

In this regard, the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) and Ministry of Culture, Government of India in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science Technology, Government of India celebrated 22-28, February 2022 as the glorious week called Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate (in Sanskrit, which means Science and technology is revered all over). 

Port Blair, March 1: In view of the significant decline in the COVID-19 cases across the country, MoHFW has issued an advisory to all the States/Union Territories (UTs) stressing the need to follow a risk assessment-based approach on the opening of economic activities. Accordingly, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 10(2)(1) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Union Home Secretary and Chairman, National Executive Committee (NEC) has directed the States/UT Government and State/UT Authorities to implement a risk assessment-based approach on the opening of economic activities.

Port Blair, March 1: It is notified for information of the electors of Port Blair Municipal Council and Gram Panchayats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as well as the officials/officers on Election Duty inside the polling stations on the day of poll on March 6, that no voter should bring mobile phone inside the polling booth. It is further notified that elaborate arrangements have been done for counting of votes on March 8 at JNRM (For Port Blair Municipal Council) and at Government Girls Senior Secondary School (For Port Blair Gram Panchayats).
