Port Blair, May 9: A protest was organised today under the leadership of Shri. Rangalal Halder President ANTCC, Shri. G. Bhasker, Chairman Campaign Committee ANTCC and Shri. V.K. Abdul Aziz, President, DCC South Andaman and other Senior Leaders of the party and Head of Frontal Organisations. The protest march was taken out from Gandhi Bhavan to the Office of the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department which passed through various parts of the city including Gandhi Statue, Tiranga Park, Fruits and Vegetable Market, Shivram Complex and ended at the office of the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department.

Port Blair, May 9: The 34th National Under-14 Chess Championship 2022 began today at Rajpat Club, Ahmedabad, Gujarat which is being organised by Gujarat State Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. Of India.

Port Blair, May 9: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,77,614 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,454 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 11,952 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 21127.

Port Blair, May 9: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 229 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 16 flights with 2538 passengers arrived, out of which, 2238 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 295 passengers and the reports are awaited.
