Port Blair, May 5: The Govt. of India has abolished Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and introduced National Pension Scheme (NPS) w.e.f. 01st January 2004, which created anguish and disappointment amongst the Govt. Servants all over India. For withdrawal / abolish of National Pension scheme and reinstate the Old Pension Scheme, which is beneficial to all government servants and their dependent family members, the Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh, BMS is organizing a Mass Protest Rally on 07.05.2022 from State BMS Office, Near Krishna Mandir, Junglighat at 3.00 PM to Tiranga Park.

Port Blair, May 5: During RAT conducted on 59 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 34 passengers, no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 51 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. At Helipad, 2 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.

Port Blair, May 5: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,77,109 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,438 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 11,898 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 20824.

Port Blair, May 5: The entrance test of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for B.Ed and B.Sc. Nursing (PB) will be held on Sunday, 8th May, 2022 (Morning session) at JNRM College, Port Blair. The candidates, who have applied for Entrance Test, are advised to download their Hall Ticket for B.Ed (https://sedservices.ignou.ac.in/bed_hallticket/) and for B.Sc Nursing (PB) (https://ignounursing.samarth.edu.in/) and follow the instructions given in the hall ticket.
