Deepawali is a festival of light, joy and happiness. However, this happy occasion is not always celebrated with due caution and at times, it turns into a festival of noise and fire hazard. It is necessary that this festival is celebrated taking all precautions with a view to minimize pollution, fire hazard and accidents.

Mery Pushpa Ex-Pradhan Shoalbay today on 22.10.2022. Port Blair, Oct. 21: A sense of joy and emotion was very much visible when the surviving members of INA/IIL were felicitated commemoration of the Anniversary of the establishment of Provisional Govt. of Azad Hind(PGI).To acknowledge the contribution of the members of the INA/IIL, the Secretary, Art & Culture, Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS accompanied by the Director, Art & Culture, Shri Prateek Raj Yadav today visited the homes of eminent senior citizens and felicitated them by presenting a shawl, a memento depicting the National Memorial Cellular Jail and sweets. 

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the demise of Smt. Kanti Devi R/o Junglighat, senior leader of Mahila Congress. He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for enough strength for the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Speakers Highlight Contribution of Subhas Chandra Bose Indian Freedom Struggle of India

Port Blair, Oct. 21: As part of week- long activities to commemorate the anniversary of the establishment of Provisional Govt. of Azad Hind (PGI) from Oct.17 to 23, 2022, a programme was held today at the historic Andaman Club in which the eminent historian shighlighted the immense contribution of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Freedom struggle. Terming Subhash Chandra Bose as a great son of mother India, the speakers remarked that he was widely regarded as the most powerful freedom fighter, who played a pivotal role in instilling the feeling of patriotism and motivating the Indian masses towards attaining freedom. The programme was organized by the Department of Art & Culture as part of commemoration of Anniversary of the establishment of Provisional Govt. of Azad Hind (PGI).
