Port Blair, Jan. 20: In order to recognize outstanding sports persons having shown excellence at National and International competition/meet, the State Level Sports Association recognized by A&N SSC have been informed to submit details of achievements of the sportspersons who have won the medals / position in the recognized National and International meet held during April 2020 to March 2021.

Port Blair, Jan 20: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to provide a ship for the Car Nicobar Island as soon as possible, so that these stranded tribal people at Port Blair can reach Car Nicobar and other people who are stranded at Car Nicobar can return back to Port Blair.

Port Blair, Jan. 20:  During the RT-PCR test conducted on 102 passengers who arrived here yesterday, 25 positive cases have been detected. Today, 6 flights with 496 passengers arrived, out of which, 376 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 110 passengers (1 foreign traveler) and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, Jan. 20: The District Magistrate, South Andaman has notified that the road leading from Bird Line Junction to Calicut Pema Junction has been closed for all the heavy vehicles viz. heavy truck, water /oil tanker, heavy goods & carriage vehicle, passenger bus etc w.e.f Jan.18 to 28 for carrying out repair work.

However, LMVs and two wheelers are allowed to move through the route through alternative arrangement as per the feasibility at work site.

Port Blair, Jan 20: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,02,502 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 18,811 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years against the target beneficiaries of 23,000. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 3814.
