Port Blair, July 15: Heavy rain (07-11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on July 16 & 17. Squally weather with surface wind 40-50 kmph is very likely to be along and off A&N Islands. Sea condition is also likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea along and off A&N Islands till July 19. Port Blair, July 14: Today, at approximately 0845 hrs, during a routine sea patrol by PMF Gemini, the Police Marine Force received an urgent distress call from the In-Charge OP Kishorinagar. The call reported that a lady, residing near the seashore area at Sagar Plot, Taal Bagan, required immediate medical assistance due to high fever and sudden breathing issues.

Port Blair, July 14: The A&N State Chess Championship 2024 cum selection Trials for Nationals which commenced on 13.07.2024 at ITI Campus Dollygunj, Port Blair concluded today evening. The event was organised by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA).

A record-breaking turnout of 330 chess players in the age group of 4 to 68 years participated with great enthusiasm. This is by far the largest chess tournament in the history of the A&N Islands, including the participation from all the three districts of A & N Islands.
