Port Blair, March 27: Ration Rasheed Foundation organized an awareness programme at Haddo for empowerment of women groups and also make them self-reliant with the support of NABARD and Unnati. On the occasion Shri. C. Mohammed, President Unnati highlighted about SHG, JLG and SHG Federation for their upliftment economically.
Shri. Rasheed, founder of the Ration Rasheed Foundation thanked Unnati for its participation with the Foundation to improve socio-economic condition of women. He said, “we should take advantage of the experiences of Unnati’s chief functionary for promoting self-employment”.

Port Blair, March 27: Under the National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impairment, the Community Ophthalmology, Dr. R. P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi will be conducting Trachomatous Trichiasis Survey in the population of 15 years and above age group in 200 Districts across India, in order to get validation for Trachoma elimination in India as per the direction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Andaman and Nicobar State Organising Committee of CPI (M) condole the sudden demise of Shri PK Beeran, retired Assistant Secretary, A & N Administration and resident of Phoenix Bay today (27.03.2023) at Port Blair. He was 73 years old. He was an office bearer of the Joint Action Committee in the Clerical Cadre while in service. CPI (M) conveyed its deepest condolences to the members of late PK Beeran.
